A: Betrayed is definitely a good team, and one that has the potential to be a challenge for us as a contender for the top spot in CEVO A, however, I feel that other than x32, they don't have very much experience. All of my roster either has LAN experience, or in the case of Saw, CEVO-P experience. Bringing that to the table means that we will be prepared for almost all situations, and if we aren't ready for what they throw at us, we'll be able to adapt. I'm excited to see this match casted as it will obviously be the CEVO-A match of the week. After our disappointing roster issues in the PT, winning this season of CEVO A is #1 on our agenda
Q: What are your strongest and weakest point coming into this match?
A: I think that our strong points and weaknesses are both distinct and yet also very closely tied together. For instance, I feel that we have the capacity to play either aggressively or passively and dominate, however I think that what all of us are a bit concerned about is simply comms and teamwork. We've been playing together with this roster for just under a month now. We already perform very well against most of the other CG-Invite teams and most CEVO-P teams. However, there are inevitable issues with being such a new team, and those might come into play with this match. Fortunately, matches are often better for us than scrims, and I have full confidence in my team going into this match.
Q: Who else in your division do you think will give you problems?
A: Theres a lot of great teams this season in CEVO A, but at the same time theres a lot of less experienced teams, so you're really going to see a bit of a "skill gap" for lack of a better term. I'd say that the teams that would concern me most have already started to shine. For instance, Zeb Gamers, formerly HF, have a decent roster, but I've yet to see them play anyone decent in CEVO. Similarly, the new Hostile team, led by their former CEVO-P players could definitely be a standout team. I also think some teams that most people will see as underdogs will make surprising strides this season. Take for instance, Procal. Those guys have had a decent start to the season. Despite a lot of issues with sinful during our time in the PT, I gotta say I retain a lot of respect for him as a person AND as a player. With his experience from Radium, he'll be able to mold this team into one that'll be difficult to beat.
Q: Who do you think will “shine” in Thursday match?
A: I never really know going into a match who will "shine" as you've put it. However, this map is ultimately a ranged map. Its going to come down to mainly scope shots and set nades, and occasionally good ak play. With that being said, I expect and hope, that Saw 2.0 will be able to get the picks we need to soften the bomb sites on offense and ruin their rushes on defense. As for nades, I have got to say that
JoshuaKill is probably one of the most random nade makers I've ever seen. Nabore could look at this guy's arsenal of setters and just say WTF. At the same time, Josh's time scoping has given him some really good reaction time and long range accuracy with that 47, so he'll be providing great cover. Of course, on defense, the smg at cafe, played by effect, has a lot of chances to put up some good resistance as well, and I think that with some of the gayer spots we've worked out for him, he'll be able to shine if they make the mistake of rushing a. In a map like strike I expect all of my team to shine, and d00bie will be getting a lot of late round rotation kills with his ak. I'll try to get some good rushing in as well.
Q: What are you expecting out of Betrayed for this match?
A: I'm not sure just yet what to expect out of betrayed. Theres a lot of conjecture as to two of their players, and I'm not going to go into that other than to say that I trust the effectiveness of CEVO's CMN3. The match could be a blowout for us, or a close one, but ultimately I expect we'll be chalking up another W. I don't want to sound cocky, but if we neutralize x32, their rush is dead. Similarly, I expect that quartz will flank and probably try to get spams and nades onto the b side, but we'll be ready. All in all, this team doesn't have the same team cohesion or experience that most of my guys do, so I expect a great match and a good cast, but I think we'll ultimately come out on top.
Q: What have you done to prepare for this match?
A: We've got a match tonight for CyberGamer Invite, so we've been kind of splitting our time between mp_backlot and mp_strike. Once we've played rSports tonight though, we'll be 100% on mp_strike. We've spent a lot of hours just stratting, spamming, setnading, and working out angles and spots on the map. We've got a few tricks up our sleeves from playing top tier teams and we've recently scrimmed a few good euro teams that have given us a bit of a different perspective on what our playstyle could be.
Q: Any final thoughts or shout outs to the community and sponsors?
A: I, as always, want to give a huge shoutout to Finesse Gaming LLC. and its owner Joe "Diavolo" Corey. Finesse has been a great sponsor these last few months and I look forward to continuing to represent them. Similarly I want to give a shoutout to Vincto, GlobalFrag, and Jarheadservers, our main sponsors at Finesse. Also, congrats to the Finesse.CS squad for good lan performance. And we'd like to thank GameFire for casting our match this Thursday.
